| OGRE History Timeline |
||||||||||||
| 1994 |
||||||||||||
| The original line-up of OGRE was formed when the members found each other through the Seek Pages of “Player” music magazine. Sayaki “GUILT” Terauchi is the only remaining original member. |

| 1995 |

| OGRE’s first activity started when they started jamming on music that was a mix between Dance beats and basic Thrash Metal. The guitarist at the time got stomach ulcers because of Terauchi’s spitting singing style (haha). |

| OGRE was introduced to blast beats when they played a joint event with Meat Slave, Azagthoth & Force (a grind core side project of Hellchild & Multiplex). With an imminent change to their music style, the original drummer and second guitarist quit the band due to musical differences. Not only did OGRE change their style of music but also changed the theme of their music to “BUTOU (The Fighting Spirit) School”. With that in mind, Takahiro “STRENGTH” Hiruma joined the band. He knew immediately that he was the chosen one to play by Terauchi’s side. They soon found a drummer that played grind core and they immediately played an event with Saigan Terror, No Choice In This Matter and the NY Style Strait Edge HC band Set Point. OGRE also played at Club Cyclone’s 1-year anniversary NY Style HC event with Dessert, Force, At One Stroke, Gappike, and many others. |

| Due to musical differences and his financial situation, OGRE’s drummer quit the band. Enter new drummer, Kiyokazu “JUDGE” Kaneko who said from the beginning: “I wanna see how much I can do in Tokyo!” Six months after JUDGE joined the band, OGRE released “FUCK IT ALL” on D-POP Records. OGRE wasn’ t completely satisfied with this label but they sold 2000 of their cd’s within the first 3 months. OGRE also had a sale commemoration gig for their first album with Missile Girl Scoot. |

| OGRE’s songs made it on two Various Artist CD’s. One was called RIVALISM, which was conceived and produced by Terauchi. The other was SURVIVE LIST 2 that was released on Survive Records. In February, MACHINE (Now known as 8mm Overdose) came to Japan to complete a short tour with OGRE. In July, OGRE and Headcase (R.I.P.) set up the joint event called “ONI FEST”, but Headcase broke up just before the event so OGRE completed the event without them. This event was so popular that it became OGRE’s trademark event. Many bands such as Melt Banana, Cult Of Personality, Nitro Mega Prayer and CASBAH (R.I.P.) showed up to perform at this event. OGRE also set up a commemoration gig for the Survive List 2 Various Artist CD. The show featured Jurassic Jade, Terror Squad, Die You Bastard!, Orange, Drowned Mind, Desorator, and Mortal Gaze. In December, OGRE joined the sale commemoration gig of DIE YOU BASTARD! for their 1st album with TERROR SQUAD and GORE BEYOND NECROPSY, etc. 2001 |

| In March, OGRE played a show with Atomic Fireball and Before Christ Butterfly at Club URGA’s 1-year anniversary. Terauchi also works at Club Urga when not playing with OGRE. All these styles lead up to the musical style of Modern Day OGRE! OGRE really wishes to play many shows overseas someday but their present situation creates a great hurdle that they must overcome before venturing out to destroy the rest of the world! OGRE is featured in the August 2001 issue of Metal Maniacs on page 97. |

| OGRE’s trademark live event is called “ONI FEST” (Japanese for Evil Festival) and usually consists of a wide variety of bands and can last up to 6 or 8 hours. Some famous bands that have graced the stage of the “ONI FEST” are Melt Banana, Missile Girl Scoot, CASBAH (R.I.P.), Pulling Teeth, 8mm Overdose (formerly known as Machine from Hawaii, USA), and many more! | The OGRE Sound |
||||||||||||
| OGRE’s sound can be attributed to many styles of metal but can be best described as Loud & Rude Hardcore with Thrash overtones. The members of OGRE take pride in developing their songs and lyrics in the vein of Hardcore. Many foreign country record labels have offered OGRE the chance to release their material through international means but they haven’t accepted any offers yet. Maybe the sounds of their second album will answer that question. |

| OGRE MP3 Site |
||||||||||||

After several months of increased site hits and web radio exposure, OGRE started climbing the mp3 charts in the Metalcore genre. To date, their song BETRAYER reached #1 in Tokyo, Japan, and Asia, and Rival reached #3 in Tokyo, Japan, & Asia as well. The big surprise came when BETRAYER reached #9 worldwide on the Metalcore Charts. |
